The position will be based on the Atlantis Azores Liveaboard. Overseeing the operation of a busy dive yacht and approximately 10 local crew.
Catering to largely international guests who visit for a 7 to 10 day vacation of scuba diving the role is "hands on" and "guest focused".

While reporting to the COO, through cooperation and teamwork, the Boat Manager not only helps formulate policy, but has to be able to find appropriate ways and means of making policy work.
The role is results driven (there is a formal assessment process) and we look for an individual with a varied skill set - the three key areas being engineering, navigation and diving,
Leadership skills, persistence and ability to make things work are likewise key attributes.
A day at work can be as varied as dealing with complex medical evacuations, maintenance issues, staff training or leading dives..

Captains Licence
Scuba diver or instructor
At least 2 years liveaboard experience (and a thorough understanding of liveaboard operations)and at least one year’s management experience
At least one year’s open seas experience as a Yacht Captain
At least 4 years of experience leading or supervising a team
Have travel or work experience in Asia (Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia)
At least 100 dive certifications at different levels and 500 logged dives or more.
Hands on experience troubleshooting engineering issues and preferably documented experience managing a dry dock
Exhibit exemplary leadership and people management skills and possess a professional demeanor with the ability to resolve customer complaints and staff issues in a positive manner
Should be very flexible and physically able to work a minimum of 12 hours per day on a 8 weeks on / 2 weeks off schedule
Have exceptional guest care and people skills
Speak and write fluent English and additional languages (preferred)
Be highly self motivated and be able to work alone
Excellent negotiating skills and creative selling abilities
Good mechanical and engineering knowledge
U/W Photo or Video skills (preferred)
